Canadian Club Original, often referred to as Canadian Club 1858, is a classic blended Canadian whisky produced by Suntory Global Spirits. It is known for its lighter and smoother style, achieved by blending the grain spirits before aging. The whisky is aged for a minimum of six years in charred white oak American bourbon barrels, twice the legally required three-year minimum for Canadian whisky. It offers an aroma of fresh almond nuttiness, a hint of fresh-cut grass, peppery rye spice, and a faint cornflake-like sweetness. The taste is gently sweet with caramel and vanilla, building to zesty rye spice and nutmeg with toasted oak at mid-palate. It is distilled at the Hiram Walker & Sons distillery in Walkerville (now part of Windsor), Ontario, Canada.
