Flaked oats provide a smoothing effect on the sharper roasted characteristics of typical stout specialty malts. Oats add a mild nutty, breakfast cereal flavor to the chocolate & coffee notes of the roasted malts. Hop character is secondary: bitterness is present for balance, while aroma is only a background layer
